			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h1 style="text-align: center;">Have You Ever Thought About Running A Marathon?</h1>
<p>Then did you think about how hard it would actually be and that you have no desire to even attempt such a feat. (i did just that)</p>
<p>Just In case you don’t know what a marathon is I will explain.</p>
<p>A marathon is 26 miles or 42km of continuous running and according to the big G (that’s google) In 2005, the average marathon time in the U.S. was 4 hours 32 minutes 8 seconds for men, 5 hours 6 minutes 8 seconds for women.</p>
<p>If you know me at all by now you&#8217;ll know that running is not really my cup of tea, I cant stand long distance running, anyhow, what you are about to read is a true story form a documentary I watched the other day.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">It is about a<strong> 4 year old boy Indian boy from the slums who runs marathons</strong>, he actually runs 20 miles per day as training (hold the phone) 20 miles per day, I would be lucky to drive 20 miles per day.</h2>
<p><a href="http://fitnessbootcampsgoldcoast.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/budhia.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1086" title="budhia" src="http://fitnessbootcampsgoldcoast.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/budhia-300x235.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="235" /></a></p>
<p>The boys name is Budhia. At the age of 4 Budhias mother had no food, and no money to survive, so one day a traveler was passing through and Budhias mother had to make the hardest decision of her life, she sold Budhia for 10 pounds to the traveler.</p>
<p>The traveler was a drunk and used to beat Budhia on a daily basis, until one day a man by the name of Biranchi came to the rescue and took Budhia to come live with him and other unfortunate orphans at his Judo dojo, in which he had trained some top level judo champions.</p>
<p>One day Biranchi told Budhia to do something around the dojo, however coming from the slums and having no manners, Budhia cursed back at Biranchi, instead of hitting Budhia, as he was used to Biranchis punishment was a lot different.</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">He told Budhia to run around the court yard and not to stop. The court yard was the size of a small Basketball court.</h2>
<p>To Biranchis amazement he returned 6 hours later to find Budhia still running laps around this court yard, Biranchi presumed that Budhia would have just stopped. That was when the champion was born.</p>
<p>Biranchi had goals of making Budhia become an Olympian champion, however as you read on you will find their were other people with different opinions.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>By the time Budhia turned 5 he had already completed around 40 marathons</strong></p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;">On 2 May 2006 Budhia completed a 42 mile run from Chapandie temple to <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhubaneshwar">Bhubaneshwar</a> in seven hours, two minutes.</h2>

<p>(THAT IS 2 MARATHONS) This feat was registered in the <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Limca Book of Records,</span> Budhia completed 65 km distance. He was asked by Biranchi to run 3 km more towards a stadium where he would be welcomed, during these extra kilometres he collapsed.</p>
<p>This is were the story takes a turn for the worst. After this On 8 May 2006 a government statement had ordered that Budhia stop running until the age of 11, Due to the impact this was having on him.</p>
<p>At this time Budhia had become a very popular young boy, and it was at this time Budhias mother wanted in on a piece of the pie. I guess the word Indian giver would fit well here.</p>
<p>A year later, Budhias mother accused Biranchi of some form of torture towards her son and that she wanted him back, the family brainwashed poor Budhia to back up their claims.</p>
<p>On april 2008 Biranchi was shot dead. It was only then Budhia came out and said he was never beaten or treated badly by Biranchi.</p>
<p>Now if you have read this far, you are clearly interested by this amazing, turned tragic story about a boy with an extreme talent that has gone to waste.</p>
<h2>Your probably wondering why on earth would I be writing something like this on a fitness site, well he did run 40 marathons before the age of 5.</h2>
<h2>I don’t know about you, but that is pretty fitnesy (I made that word up) to me.</h2>
<p>Whenever I see or hear such stories, I always try to take the learning’s away and see how I can adapt them into my life.</p>
<p>Here are my learning from this story:</p>
<p>1: When times get tough, never give up, <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>remember you only fail when you give up.</strong></span></p>
<p>2: if a 4 year old boy can achieve such remarkable feats then why cant a fully grown adult who has food, shelter and probably an iphone. In Budhias case he had nothing.</p>
<p>3: For every person out their doing wrong, there is a person doing right, as in Biranchis case, saving these kids lives.</p>
<p>4: Cherish the life you have, make the most out of every relationship, partners, friends and family, and be thank-full that you were not sold to the milkman for a carton of milk.</p>

<p>If you are anything like me then you like to have fun, and that may involve a beer/ wine or 3 maybe even 5 or 6, ok you get my point.</p>
<p>However if you are still anything like me, <strong>you still like to keep in shape</strong>.</p>
<p>Most people would call this a juggling act, how are you supposed to drink and eat not so good food and still stay in shape?</p>
<p>I call it creating a balance.</p>
<p>And in a moment i am going to reveal to you exactly what i do to create this thing called BALANCE.</p>
<p>However before i do, i just want to show you some proof on how i like to have fun.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The following photos are from an event called the gold coast 7s, it is a rugby tournament in which team from all around the world come to attend,<strong> it is also a great excuse for a good ole dress up party.</strong></p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ok so now that i have revealed a fun, slightly wild side of me, i also want to reveal a more serious side of me.</strong></h2>
<p>I firstly fell in love with the fitness industry because i witnessed first hand what hard training and a little sacrifice can do for your confidence, social life, wellbeing, and of course your overall life satisfaction.</p>
<h1>I get asked all the time, Do i have to stop drinking alcohol full stop to get in shape?</h1>
<p>My answer to that is<strong>, Hell To The NO!</strong></p>
<p>It all comes down to moderation, right? Taada, magic, thats it, the answer you have all been looking for is here, MODERATION!</p>
<p>However that is easier to say than done, i know because i have been there, and i still go there many times.</p>
<p>Just because i am a health professional it doesn&#8217;t mean i am, GOD! all tho that would be a pretty cool title to have.</p>
<h2>Any how, what i am saying here is that in order to live life, have fun (your version of it) and to stay in great shape all you need to do is follow these simple steps below:</h2>
<ul>
<li>Eat what you want on the weekend (within moderation of course) so if you feel like a big mac or nachos or pizza, than have it, but the secret to this is don&#8217;t feel guilty, not 1 bit.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>heres the catch, Monday through Friday you must eat clean, what that means is all junk food is of limits, unless you want to take up the junk food challenge.</li>
</ul>
<h3>For every serving of junk food (lollies, chips, pies, savouries, cakes e.g.) you eat you must do 30 mins of extra exercise on top of your weekly routine. This will make you think twice before reaching for that chocolate biscuit.</h3>
<ul>
<li>Drink .33litres of water per kilo of body weight per day. I don&#8217;t want to hear that, oh but i can&#8217;t i just need to keep going to the toilet. It will pass, just persevere</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Exercise a minimum 3 times per week, mixed with a combination of resistance training, interval training and a little cardio. <a href="http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Fat-Man-Fat-Loss-Workouts/161267073942002?sk=app_102515556471926" target="_blank">Click here to get your free workout manual </a>you can use today. 		<title>The Boot Camp Workout From Hell</title>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So the workout i am about to show you below was the exact workout i took 30 other fitness professionals through this past weekend, here in the Gold Coast.</p>
<p>These fitness professionals came from all around Australia, and gathered together at the Radisson resort Gold Coast for a weekend of serious business, and pleasure.</p>
<p>The weekend included FIRE walking, our own version on the Apprentice, and a serious kick butt workout.</p>
<p>The workout went like so:</p>
<p><strong>Please Note: This is a fairly advanced workout, do not try this at home, unless you want to. (to our gold coast boot campers, watch out)</strong></p>
<p><strong>Warm up</strong>- 7min consisting of shuttle runs, high knees, butt flicks, leg swings, partner rows</p>
<p><strong>1st component</strong>- Teams of 3, we set up cones about 15 m apart. 1 person had to inchworm down to the cone and back, whilst the other 2 partners were completing and activity which involved serious core, <a href="http://rapidfatloss.org/fat-burning-work/fat-loss-workouts/exercises-to-melt-fat-and-build-sculpted-arms-chest-and-shoulders/" target="_blank">shoulder and chest strength</a>. Each person had to complete the inchworm component (this was a race)</p>
<p><strong>2nd component</strong>- In partners we completed a body weight series of partner bench pressing/ <a href="http://fitnessbootcampsgoldcoast.com/you-need-to-know-this-to-build-6-pack-abs/">core</a> holds, and a series of planks vs squats (this had them all sweating like crazy, i loved it, mmmmhhhhoooooohahahahahaa (evil laugh) this was 10 minutes continuous work)</p>
<p><strong>3rd component</strong>- Quit possibly the killer blow. This was named the buns of steal workout. We had the cones 15m apart and each person had to lunge down to the end and complete 20 <a href="http://rapidfatloss.org/fat-burning-exercises/lower-body-exercises/lower-body-exercise-to-build-strong-quads/" target="_blank">jump squats</a>, they then had to lunge back, then complete 19 jump squats, then lunge back, then 18, and so on and so on. WOW did this kill them.</p>
<p><strong>Imagine having to almost lunge the distance of a running track and on top of that complete 210 jump squats.</strong></p>
<p>I even made some of them do more reps, just in case they were cheating.</p>
<p>To finish of we had a 300m distance to the raddisons pool, what a great way to finish of a workout huh.</p>
<p>Everyone though we were finished and started to walk back, little did they know we were not done yet.</p>
<p>We decided to turn it into a race, but a different sort of race.</p>
<p>We put them in teams of 3. 1 member had to be carried at all times, if the member was getting heavy and the carriers wanted a rest, they can put the member down and swap, only after they completed ten burpees first.</p>
<p>Of course no team made it back first go, the minimum was about 5 change overs, so an extra 50 burpees to the workout.</p>
<p>This was a funny sight to see, i bet all of the trainers clients would have loved to see there trainer for once, panting and gasping for air, (i think they call that pay back)</p>
<p><strong>Cool down- swimming pool</strong></p>
<p>So there you have it. Any one of those training components would test the advanced trainee, let alone all of them.</p>

<p><strong>Your extremely bored at work and have nothing to do but read this?</strong> (this is far better to read than searching Facebook during work time, YOU KNOW who you are)</p>

<p>In order to lose any body fat you need to get up, move, and yes you guessed it, continue to move.</p>
<p>Some people may think, thats being pretty harsh to say Brett, well my answer to that is,<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong> STOP READING NOW,</strong></em></span> and go waste your time on Facebook, because if you are sitting there waiting for a magic pill, YOU WONT FIND IT, sorry.</p>

<h2>2: Stop Doing Cardio</h2>
<p>So that is a pretty bold statement, and before anyone throws their <strong>nickers in a twist,</strong> hear me out.</p>
<p>When it comes to losing <a href="http://fitnessbootcampsgoldcoast.com/6-pack-abs-the-easy-way/" target="_blank">abdominal fat</a> HIIT and weight training are hands down the best methods to burn fat the fastest.</p>
<p>I am in no way saying that cardio is bad for you, it does have its place in a training schedule and i do recommend it for some people.</p>
<p>Studies have proven that High intensity interval training yields 9x greater fat loss, than the people who completed slow, boring cardio.</p>

<p>Once again this Tip may be a little controversial, but hey, i have evidence to back this one up.</p>
<p><strong>Imagine being able to eat what you want and still lose stomach fat. </strong>Well thanks to science and the adaptability of the human body you can.</p>
<p>BUT STOP, if you think i mean you can eat all the food you want, whenever you want YOU are in the wrong place and listening to the wrong guy.</p>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 20px; font-weight: bold;">4: Stop Stressing (Arrrgghhhhh)</span></p>
<p>Yes, stress is making you fatter.</p>
<p>What we need to understand here is that stress comes in all shapes and sizes, just like us humans. When you understand the types of stresses out there you will have a higher chance of keeping these stresses to an all time low.</p>

<p>You will notice there is 6 different types of stresses your body can be put under. Not just the stress caused at the office because Mary told joe that sarah told the boss that you told mary that she &#8230;&#8230; <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>You see what i mean,</strong></span> You start getting stressed just by reading that.</p>

<h2>5: Eat This Meal Plan</h2>
<p>This is an example meal plan i eat with my 21 Day Rapid Fat loss Blueprint. <a href="http://fitnessbootcampsgoldcoast.com/meals-on-my-21-day-rapid-fat-loss-blueprint/" target="_blank">Take it and use it</a>.</p>
<p>Not only will you lose body fat, you will increase your energy levels and most defiantly decrease those stress levels.</p>

<p>This is my far the most underrated tip of all.</p>
<p>The reason so, is that to many people take this tip for granted. In todays society it is just so easy to give up and start something else, isn&#8217;t it? There is always a new, whizz bang fitness product, diet, supplement on the market that you can jump to and from like a frog on a lilly pad.</p>
<p>So do yourself a favour, whatever <a href="http://21dayrapidfatlossblueprint.com/" target="_blank">fitness program</a>, nutritional plan you follow, stick to it, give it a red hot go. If after that time, you still do not see any results, then it is time to try something else.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">The amount of people i have seen start something and just give up, just as they were about to have a major breakthrough, saddens me.</h3>
<h3 style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Remember your results are a reflection of the efforts you put in.</span></em></h3>

<p>This blog post was inspired by the thing i like to call, <strong>CHEAT DAY. </strong></p>
<p>Now if your not familiar with what a cheat day is, then let me enlighten you.</p>
<p>A cheat day to me is:</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Being able to eat what you want,</h3>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">when you want,</h3>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">and how much you want.</h3>
<p>Now that comment right there might<strong> ruffle a few feathers</strong> among other fitness professionals, but you know what, i don&#8217;t CARE, here is why:</p>
<p>Being a fitness professional, avid sportsmen, real life human being, Male and life long fan of MC Donalds (thats another whole story there)</p>
<p>I guess what i am trying to say here is that, <strong>i am a real life person</strong>, with real life <strong>struggles</strong>, and can definitely relate to you, when it comes to eating the right foods.</p>
<p>I can&#8217;t count the amount of times people have said to me, oh it must be easy for you to eat all the right foods: <strong>WRONG</strong>!</p>
<p>Like i said, I&#8217;m only human, <strong>i struggle just as much as the next person</strong>, but this is where i am different.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">What i am about to tell you is the best kept secret on how i have managed to eat junk food and remain in great shape most of my life:</h3>
<p>Your probably sitting their hoping for a miracle answer, like click your heals together 3x and you will instantly lose your belly rolls.</p>
<p>or hoping i will suggest a magic supplement that will strip the fat from you in 2 hours.</p>
<p>I wish i could give you an answer like that, i actually do wish their was something like that out there, because i would be the first person on it.</p>
<p>But we have to face facts people. There is no simple answer to this, but i guarantee if you follow these simple tips you to can enjoy having a CHEAT DAY, where you can eat what you want. MMMMM.</p>
<p>Im getting hungry writing this thing, bummer its only monday and i have to wait till Saturday. Why saturday you ask? well thats just because i choose to have the saturday as my cheat day.</p>
<h3>Here is what my previous CHEAT DAY consisted of:</h3>
<p><strong>Late Breaky</strong> = eggs benedict with extra hash browns, coffee, Banana smoothie</p>
<p>During the day = zaraffas strawberry fusion, maybe a pice of cake or slice</p>

<p><strong>Dinner</strong> = Pizza Capers, pizza, with chicken, potato, sour cream, sweet chilli (whole)</p>
<p>with garlic bread side.</p>
<p>american hot dog- mustard and chips with a coke to wash it down.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;"><strong>Ok so that is probably enough food to last a family of 5 for a week right. </strong></h3>
<p>Now this is why i can eat the food above and enjoy every last bite of it.</p>
<p>Because unlike most people i only eat like this for 1 day of the week, YES thats right, 1 day of the week. <strong>Therefore i allow myself to eat like a Grizzly bear that has just laid eyes on a camp site.</strong></p>

<p>I have a question for you:</p>
<h3>Are you scared of Rain?</h3>
<p>I don&#8217;t mean scared like the boogy monster scared, i mean like the, ah, no way am i training in the rain i will get wet, cold, and end up sick, scared.</p>
<p>This post was inspired by sending out a text to our awesome<a href="http://fitnessbootcampsgoldcoast.com/"> gold coast boot campers</a>, asking if they would be turning up to our evening session (which is outside on a thursday) as there is rain forecasted, (forward thinking you see)</p>
<p>Some of the replies i received were:</p>
<p><em>&#8220;ill be there rain hail or shine&#8221;</em></p>
<p><em>&#8220;me and my partner aint scared of rain&#8221;</em></p>
<p><em>&#8220;cool&#8221;</em></p>
<p>&#8220;definitely&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;sure will be, wouldn&#8217;t miss it&#8221;</p>
<p>So thats great, i love it when people don&#8217;t make excuses.</p>
<h3>But do you want to know the funny thing?</h3>
<p>In my text i asked them to reply with a YES, and as you can see from those replies there is no YES. Even thought they have shown massive dedication to achieving their goals, they have not followed my instructions, LOL</p>
<p>So i guess i will have to give it to them at <a href="http://fitnessbootcampsgoldcoast.com/">boot camp tonight.</a></p>
<p>Going back to my question of, are you scared of rain?</p>
<h3>Before you ever thing about pulling the pin on training because of the rain think about this:</h3>
<p>When you swim, you are working out in cold water, mmmmm there goes the, ill get sick in the rain.</p>
